Honors Community

The Wartburg Honors Community is an honors program that brings together highly motivated students from a broad range of disciplines. It is dedicated to improving the intellectual life on campus by providing students who strive for academic excellence enriching academic challenges and learning opportunities through service activities, coursework, and research. Through these endeavors, students become more independent and think more critically about new knowledge while gaining a greater appreciation and respect for diversity.

Program Requirements

  • Students must maintain full-time status with a minimum of three course credits each Fall Term and Winter Term and one course credit each May Term.
  • Students must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25.
  • Students must complete program courses with a grade of B or higher.
  • Students must complete team-based service projects each academic year and complete individual reflections at the end of each Fall Term and Winter Term.

  • HON 200 Second-Year Honors Seminar (pending approval)
  • HON 300 Third-Year Honors Seminar (pending approval)
  • HON 400 Fourth-Year Honors Seminar (pending approval)
  • One honors contract course (pending approval)
