Two minor applied music credits (One credit guitar and one credit vocal or piano.)
Participation in music ensemble each term
Attendance at twelve musical events per term, of which no more than two can be off-campus
Pass basic guitar skills test
Pass basic piano skills test, if non-keyboard emphasis
Pass freshman jury
Pass music therapy pre-practicum competencies
Pass sophomore barrier
Third-year recital (15 minutes)
Fourth-year recital (30 minutes) or senior presentation
Music Therapy Equivalency
Individuals who have earned a bachelor’s or master’s degree in music (or in a field related to music therapy) and wish to pursue a career in music therapy can complete the curriculum below to meet the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA) Professional Competencies, including practicum experiences and internship. Some courses may have been completed as part of a prior degree.
