Wartburg College confers six bachelor’s degrees to candidates recommended by the faculty and approved by the Board of Regents:
-
Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)-liberal arts studies with a concentration of courses in a major.

Bachelor of Science (B.S.)-liberal arts studies with a major in engineering.

Bachelor of Music (B.M.)-liberal arts studies with an extended concentration in musical performance or music therapy.

Bachelor of Music Education (B.M.E.)-liberal arts studies with a concentration in teaching music.

Bachelor of Music Education/Music Therapy (B.M.E.)-liberal arts studies with a concentration in teaching music and a major in music therapy.

Bachelor of Applied Arts (B.A.A.) or Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.S.)-liberal arts studies in addition to either an Associate of Applied Arts or an Associate of Applied Science degree earned from an accredited institution. Graduates with a B.A.A. or B.A.S. degree have a more technical background. Their associate degree substitutes for the major.
THRIVE Requirements by Degree
Candidates for the BACHELOR OF ARTS (B.A.), BACHELOR OF SCIENCE (B.S.), BACHELOR OF MUSIC (B.M.), and BACHELOR OF MUSIC EDUCATION (B.M.E.) degrees take courses that fulfill THRIVE (see requirements table here ) and courses that complete a major as listed by each academic department.
Candidates for the BACHELOR OF APPLIED ARTS (B.A.A.) or BACHELOR OF APPLIED SCIENCE (B.A.S.) degree take courses to fulfill THRIVE (see requirements table here ) EXCEPT SEM 100 and SEM 200 . The Associate degree substitutes for the major.
Wartburg College confers two master’s degrees to candidates recommended by the faculty and approved by the Board of Regents:
- Master of Arts (MA)-graduate studies in leadership.
- Master of Science (MS)-graduate studies in sport science and data science in human performance.
